In this Quentin Tarantino film, a bounty hunter John Ruth (Kurt Russell) on his was to bring his prisoner Daisy Domergue (Jennifer Jason Leigh) to the next town in order to collect his reward, when his carriage gets stopped by renown bounty hunter Major Marquis Warren (Samuel L. Jackson) in the middle of a Wyoming blizzard. After settling why Warren was there, they set off again to run into another wanderer in the blizzard (Sheriff Chris Mannix played by Walter Goggins). As time passes, the blizzard becomes too strong for them to go on and they stop at a cabin to find four mysterious men already in it.
If you’re a fan of Tarantino films, then look no further as he brings back the essence of Reservoir Dogs with a very similar casting, and keeps the film to small amounts of action and bases everything on dialogue alone. One thing that Tarantino is amazing at. the film itself, did not have anything wrong with it, aside from it being nearly a three hour film separated via chapters of the different events happening in the film.
The writing and dialogue alone, was enough to bring this movie across, the graphics are something that could have been taken down a notch, but hey, it’s a Quentin Tarantino film and what’s a Tarantino film without squirts of blood. One thing that was done perfectly was the choice of character’s and which actors would play which role. Every actor embraced the character perfectly a shined through in their dialogue. The set was so staged so interestingly as every prop that was shown was used at least once in the film, from simple blankets to a piano, so a pawn in chess. The film does come with a surprising ending that will leave viewers wanting more.
Aside from the film being too long, if you’re a Tarantino fan, this one was another great one for his list.
