Orchestral folk band from Austin, TX, American Dreamer, specializes in fretless pop. Their sound falls between Edgar Meyer, Sufjan Stevens and Yo-Yo Ma, and much more.
The creator of the band Sasha Klare-Ayvazian first acquired the taste of folk and classical music when he had heard his roommate playing the cello during his freshman year in Cleveland at Oberlin College. He tried to capture this sound in their self-titled EP released in 2014. He continued to create the unique sound until he returned to school to get his Master’s degree. There Sasha connected with some friends who happened to be classically trained string players.
In 2015, they released a live EP “Winding Up A Dream” and performed across Central Texas where they obtained the Global Music Award. After a full year of writing and practising, the fretless band have finally found the sound that Sasha was searching for, for many years.
Earlier this year, the band entered Austin Signal Studios and recorded their first LP “Restless Nights”. The name of the LP is based on the band name as the fact that the American dream hasn’t been doing well at this time.
